Lane received his undergraduate degree from Pittsburg State University in Psychology with
an emphasis in Developmental Disabilities. He obtained his Master's Degree in Counseling
Psychology from Avila University. He has also taken courses at KU in the area of Autism
and Asperger's Disorder. The Autism spectrum is one of his main areas of interest. Lane
completed training in providing Parent Management Training (PMT) to parents with difficult
children and is currently licensed in the state of Kansas as a Master's Level Psychologist.
Lane's background in the field of mental health is diverse, having worked in many different
settings, including hospitals, schools, home care, and private practice settings. He has
facilitated counseling groups, as well as provided one-on-one counseling for individuals
ranging in age from 12 to 90 on a local in-patient unit. He has also assisted teachers with
adapting curriculum and implementing behavior management programs in a classroom setting. He
has experience working with families of children with Autism, helping parents develop
behavior management programs, as well as teaching children both communication and adaptive
functioning skills. Lane completed his internship in a private practice setting where he
conducted individual, group (social skills training), and family therapy services under the
supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Lane enjoys working with a diverse population of individuals in both individual and group
therapy settings. He has a great deal of experience in working with children and families.
He also provides intelligence testing services.
