Dr. Porter is a Licensed Psychologist who has been practicing in Overland Park since
1980. She completed her undergraduate degree in education from the University of Missouri
and her Master's and Doctoral degrees in the area of Developmental and Child Psychology
from the University of Kansas. Dr. Porter is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri and is
a recognized Health Services Provider in Missouri. Dr. Porter has been a principal in
Responsive Centers for Psychology and Learning since 1983. She is a member of the American
Psychological Association, the Kansas Psychological Association, and the Kansas City
Psychological Association (where she served as treasurer).
Dr. Porter works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She currently
devotes a large part of her practice to helping families who are caught in high conflict
divorce situations learn to get along better and make decisions that reflect the best
interests of their children. ADHD, depression, anxiety, parenting, marriage, home, and
school related behavior problems are focuses of her practice. In addition to these areas
of expertise, Dr. Porter also serves as the Clinical Director of Comprehensive Geriatric
Psychological Services, a provider network serving long-term care facilities. Dr. Porter
also devotes a substantial portion of her practice to Psychological assessments, custody
evaluations, and fitness to parent evaluations.
Dr. Porter has authored a number of articles and is a sought after speaker. She is married
and the parent of two adult daughters and the grandmother of three grandsons and a
granddaughter. Dr. Porter looks forward to helping you.
