Dr. Anderson is a Licensed Psychologist who works the issues that affect women and adolescent girls. She joined Responsive Centers in 2009. Her specialty is in the area of sexual abuse and assault healing, life transitions, and grief and loss issues. Other areas of interest include anxiety and depression and sexual orientation (gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered). Her therapeutic style is integrative and direct. She provides psycho-education and support to individuals by highlighting their strengths and teaching additional skills so that they may advocate for themselves with real world difficulties.
Dr. Anderson completed an Associate Degree working in Developmental Disabilities, a BS in Psychology from Viterbo University, a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School and a Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. Previous work experience includes sexual abuse and assault work for a hospital, behavioral health clinical case management for a national health insurance company, teaching psychology at the undergraduate level and as Outreach Coordinator for Georgia Southern University's Counseling Center. Most recently, Dr. Anderson was at University of Kansas Medical Center's Counseling and Educational Support Services.
Currently, Dr. Anderson serves on the board of the Greater Kansas City Psychological Association.
