Susan is an educational specialist and consultant with experience in both regular and special
education. From 1989 to the present, she has been at Responsive Centers specializing in
assessment and design of both short-term and long-term interventions to address individual
learning needs. Her undergraduate work was completed at Loretto Heights College in Denver,
Colorado with an emphasis in both regular and special education. She has, over the years been
a teacher at the primary, middle, junior and senior high levels and assisted in developing
resource programs for children with learning problems in several school districts. She is
married and has two adult children.
Since 1976, Sue has also been affiliated with the University of Kansas Center For Research In
Learning, participating in the development, research, field testing, and training of teachers
in the Strategies Intervention Model. She completed her graduate degree in 1980 at
the University of Kansas with an emphasis in learning disabilities and counseling psychology.
She continues to offer workshops for school districts throughout the country and has co-authored
articles and developed curriculum materials using the K.U. Learning Strategies Model.
The focus of her private practice is to provide customized learning programs that help students
achieve academic success and build self-confidence.
